This Summer Has Been A Lot

This summer has been a lot… of good… but still a lot.

Last fall, we had the opportunity and were awarded a grant from the Bradley County Healthy Community Initiative, which provided us with the resources to overcome some of the challenges associated with an older building.

We were able to complete large projects that have been out of reach until now. Volunteers from the United Way of the Ocoee Region put on the finishing touches, and today we hosted the community at our ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The fantastic Family Promise of Bradley County supporters sent me to The Winchester Institute for Real Estate Development to learn from leaders in the Affordable Housing sector. It was an intense week of learning and pushing myself into a new area, and it will take me some time to process what I’ve learned.

We continued to serve families through the prevention and stabilization programs. It is truly amazing what we can do when we collaborate and work together! We were able to assist a family who had received support from a major nonprofit organization in our community. We were grateful to be able to assist in keeping the family stable.

Check out From The Ground Up to see the full insight into our accomplishments this summer.
